I guess I am going to have to go through the fuel cock and carb deal with my '97 Savage. It has been losing power due to lack of fuel for a while now. It may just be gummed up. I'll probably try the Hartman mod on the exhaust, take out the spacer, do the air cleaner, and possibly do the Rider mag. mod on the carb. I have almost 13,000 miles on mine and still love it. The seat it a bit of a drag on long hauls, but you have to stop every 110 miles or so for gas anyway. I am just now getting around to changing the stock tire too. I didn't look at too many of the posts on the rear tire deal, but I will probably just get the same thing that was on it, maybe in a little harder composite to last a bit longer, but not so hard as to be dangerous. Any suggestions are appreciated. Yeah, I give her throttle and you hear the air flow, just no kick. Sometimes if I pop the throttle a few times it will catch and go, but its getting worse. I guess I will also look at the vacuum hose and make sure it is not leaking. As far as rejetting, is the main all I need to worry about, other than resetting the idle flow screw? Oh, I have to take my fuel cock off to get the tank off. Does the old style fuel vavle allow for tank removal without removing the valve? Thanks all and keep smilin' with bugs in your teeth.
